Artist Statement

Creating art is a passion and life-long journey, and I constantly search for ways to better my art and push the limits of what I can do.

What I enjoy most about my art is the ability to make something unreal appear lifelike. I like composing pieces that have atmosphere and tell a story, and I focus on details to get the illusion of depth and realism. This attention to detail sets me apart from other artists. It pleases me when viewers of my art say, “It looks so real.” Of course, it pleases me more when they buy some of my art!

I am a dreamer who creates images and stories in my head and then transfers them into art. I want people to be able to re-examine my work in order to see the hidden depths and to look at the art more than once to find new images and meanings. I love having viewers say, “I didn’t notice that until my third time looking at it.” My art should make people happy and open up their imaginations.

I believe one of the greatest crimes is the loss of one’s imagination. Far too many people lose their creativity as they grow into adulthood and take on the pressures of society. I want to give creativity, imagination, and fantasy back to as many people as I can.
